Wintershelter

Wintershelter provides a safe, warm place to stay, a good dinner, counseling by a social worker, a bed and breakfast to 22 men for the five coldest months of the year.

Wintershelter works in cooperation with My Brother's House, which hires and supervises the overnight staff, screens, showers, and clothes the men and brings them to Trinity Center for Urban Life. There, the guests are welcomed by volunteers who serve the meals provided by volunteer cooks. A social work intern, supervised by Philadelphia Management Corporation, helps the men take the steps that may move them out of the homeless cycle.

Each year, many of the men are able to go into transitional housing or residential treatment programs. More than 100 volunteers serve the shelter each year. If you'd like to become one of them, call us at 215-732-2515, or email dickihrig@verizon.net
