David Shunskis, Music Director

David Shunskis is a pianist who is very active as soloist, chamber musician, accompanist and teacher. He is a frequent performer in the Philadelphia area.

In 1997 he performed The Ravel Concerto for the Left Hand as well as pieces by Faure as part of the annual French Piano Institute Festival in Paris. More recently he has collaborated with the Danoff String Quartet, The Fiesta Woodwind Quintet and The Chancellor String Quartet. His principal teacher was the late Vladimir Sokoloff of the Curtis Institute with whom he studied for over ten years. He has also studied with Donn-Alexandre Feder, Orlando Cole, Edgar Ortenberg and Tana Bawden.

He holds a Bachelors and a Masters degree from Temple University. Mr. Shunskis maintains a busy teaching schedule at the Settlement Music School as well as privately. Several of his students have gone on to win prizes and establish important musical careers.

Mr. Shunskis if also founder and Director of The Music Program at Trinity Center For Urban Life. As such he has produced and directed several operas, established a Chamber Music Series, an Opera Workshop and an Evensong Concert Series.
