Membership

Unlike a sports team where you are not allowed in unless you’re a member, this awesome space has open doors for anyone who hears God’s call to come and be. When you visit on a Sunday you will find neighbors and strangers on the journey of faith. We hope to make this a place where every person can encounter God and be encountered by God as we sit, listen, pray, sing, commune.

TMC members hail from next door, around the corner and surrounding suburbs. Some have called this congregation “family” for 30 years, some for just a few months; all welcome the new faces and talents that seek a place of prayer weekly. Many are just getting to know one another as prayer partners, co-journeyers in faith or as workers for the homeless.

Come for a morning and feel the Spirit move. Talk to others or keep it to yourself. Grab some coffee after or take the worship experience to the park and be quiet.

If or when you are ready, we’re here … for formal or informal membership where you can join others in mission and ministry, raise money at an art show, serve the homeless, pledge your support in body, mind or spirit, and know you are not alone.

Baptism

You do not have to be baptized to be part of the community of Trinity. We do not believe that baptism has anything to do with whether God loves us, nor do we think it determines our final destination in an afterlife. Baptism is the rite of initiation in the Christian religion. It is the one ritual act that bonds all Christians everywhere regardless of all the other differences between us. Baptism is a covenant we enter into with God, a particular kind of relationship that will change us over time. Baptism is a spiritual practice that includes not only personal piety like prayer and meditation, but corporate acts of outreach and advocacy like voting, engaging in the reformation of society on behalf of those at the margins and extending the love of God through our very own fingertips. Baptism is not meant to be a cultural nicety that we do for babies when they are born but the initiation into a communal relationship with God and others that may well get us into trouble if we take it seriously. Therefore, baptism should not be entered into lightly or to mollify your mother-in-law.

If you are interested in Baptism for you or your child(ren) please contact the Rector for a conversation and discovery process. We are not stingy at all about baptism but we do want you to take it as seriously as we do.

Confirmation

Biannually we are able to have a Sunday morning service which includes Confirmation of all those prepared to make that next step in their spiritual journey.  In preparation for that step and in the months preceding, we offer separate classes for teens and adults. Please inquire if you are Baptized and wish to be confirmed in the Episcopal Church. Please contact our office if this is a service in which you would like to participate.
